Welcome to Queerdo News!

Welcome, welcome, reader and perhaps listener! You've landed on the website for Queerdo News, a new one-woman podcast and blog featuring all things queer news.

I imagine you're here for many of the same reasons I am: you're queer or someone you love is, you care about the LGBTQ community and want to be connected to it, and -- if you're really like me -- you're nervous. There have been many historic, meaningful wins for the queer community in recent years. Queer rights have been extended into wedding venues, hospitals, workplaces, churches, schools through marriage equality, more inclusive healthcare practices, and more. Queer activists, lawyers, politicians, and everyday people have pushed progress forward.

But... more and more we're hearing stories about people intent on pushing that progress back. Attacks on gender-affirming healthcare, drag shows, Pride displays, trans kids participating in sports... All of these are attacks on trans and queer visibility. There are people, from lawmakers down to neighbors, who don't want us to be loud and proud. They want silence.

It's scary. It's infuriating. It's heartbreaking.

But it's also not going to happen.

There are incredible things that queer people and groups are doing across the nation to fight for a more inclusive community. Queerdo News is launching to cover all that and more.
